MATERIALS - VIDEO
What file format should I use?
We prefer your video files be sent to us as a quicktime movie (*.mov) or flash video (*.flv) files. They may also be MPEG-2 or any other compressed video filetype. Some video files, especially AVI or uncompressed video files, may be too large to send electronically, but they can be burned to a data CD and sent to us via mail.
How long can my video be?
The total length of video files on one of our websites may not exceed 3 minutes, due to the amount of space these files take up. That is typically an ideal length for an online video reel, as viewers interested in more of your material will most likely contact you for a full demo DVD.
Can I send in a DVD or VHS?
Yes, you may send us your video clips on a DVD or VHS if you do not already have them in a digitized medium on your computer. We will convert them to a web-ready format free of charge. We do not however offer professional demo reel creation/editing services.
Can I use YouTube or other online shared videos?
Yes, in fact this is the preferred method. Because embedded YouTube videos actually live on YouTube's site, they do not take up any space and therefore can be as long as YouTube allows, and have as many as you like. You can use our online Updater to easily add YouTube and other Shared Online videos to your reel page.
Currently, we support videos from YouTube, Google, and Vimeo, however it may also be possible for other types of shared videos to be embedded in your reel page. Please let us know if there is a video you would like to include from a site other than those currently supported, and we will be happy to look into adding it.
