MATERIALS - IMAGES/PHOTOS
What file format should I use?
Images and photos we put on our websites are most commonly JPEGs. If you have images of this filetype (*.jpg) that would be preferable. Some other common image types are *.gif, *.bmp, *.tif, and *.png. Any of these filetypes will also be acceptable and we will convert them for you for free.
If you are uploading photos via our online Updater, they must be JPEGs. If you are not sure how to or are unable to convert your images to JPEG, just email your files to us and we will convert and upload them for you.
Will you scan my photos for me?
If you have photos that are not already in a digital format on your computer, you can mail a hardcopy to us. We will scan it into a web-ready format for free.
How many photos can I have?
Your photo album has a limit of 20 photos. The reason is not to limit your website as a resource, but to keep your site fresh, professional, and focused, and too many photos can congest your site and ward off industry professionals. We have found that 20 photos is more than enough to put one's best face forward while showing off one's range. If you are also interested in maintaining a large online photo gallery, we recommend using a free photo gallery site such as www.photobucket.com, www.flickr.com, or www.webshots.com, and providing a link to it on your "links" page for those visitors who are interested.
